The Washington County Historical Society is excited about the LeMoyne House's 200th year and is looking forward to celebrating this incredible event. A special website has been created for this occasion and will be your guide to everything concerning the LeMoyne House turning 200. A virtual tour of the LeMoyne House is available at the site.
Dorothea and Henry Hood Memorial Scholarship
Must be Postmarked no later than May 1, 2012
The Washington County Historical Society will award one $500 scholarship annually to a Washington County high school senior who has been accepted by and plans to attend an accredited four year college. The scholarship will be based on a 500 to 700 word essay on a significant person or event in Washington County's history.
Flash From the Past - Online Photograph Exhibit
Throughout 2012
With the Historical Society's newly redesigned website, comes the opportunity to bring more of our collection to the public. Flash from the Past, our first online exhibit, features photographs from the extensive collection housed at the Historical Society. This exhibit is made possible because of the hard work of Alyssa Shrump and the many volunteers that worked with her to achieve her Girl Scout Gold Award.

Washington County Historical Society Annual Banquet

Frontier Folk Music Festival
June 2, 2012
The
Washington County Frontier History Center will be alive with music on June 2.
This brand new Historical Society event will bring together several Frontier
Folk Music Artists to entertain guests at the Frontier Fort and Settlement.
Guest will also be able to experience frontier life through demonstrations of period crafts and trades. A weapons display, cooking demonstrations and period dressed reenactors round out this fun filled day.
Whiskey Rebellion Festival

This city-wide event has become hugely popular with both local and out of town visitors. Washington County Historical Society activities will include Open House at the LeMoyne House, including Madeleine's Garden, and the Frontier History Center at Washington Park.
19th Annual Art in the Garden

The Washington County Historical Society's longest running annual event is now in its 19th Year. This event features original artwork from 65 renowned area artists. This casual show combines live music, delicious hors d'oeuvres, kids' activities and beautiful artwork. There truly is something for everyone in the family.
Annual Hog Roast and Music Festival

The Washington County Historical Society's first Hog Roast and Music Festival was so successful that plans are in the works to make is an annual event. Delicious food, live music and good friends combine for a truly spectacular day.
